The Ecological Network has profiles for both Ecological Companies and Individual Freelancers.
Ecological Companies: Organisations whose clients are non-ecologists (such as developers, architects, homeowners, councils etc.). We appreciate that some smaller consultancies act as subcontractors on major projects for larger firms.
Individual Freelancers: Individuals that only work for other ecological companies through subcontracting agreements. This ranges from graduates undertaking bat surveys, to specialists that are relied upon for complex projects.
If you have your own company engaging with not ecological clients, but also work part-time as a freelancers, then we suggest you make two separate profiles (as the search functions separate the profile types).
The Ecological Network, is a very new platform. It is growing quickly, but not all Ecological Companies have joined yet.
If your search is not resulting in any Ecological Companies, we suggest increasing your search radius, and check that you do not have any restricted filters on.

Some ecological consultancies have multiple branches/offices, who operate in different locations.
As each profile is linked to one location, you must create separate profiles for each office/branch. The same account owner can create multiple profiles.
Similarly, if your company is split between two locations and you want to be included in search results for both places; make two profiles.
We suggest naming your separate profiles such as “The Ecological Network: Bristol” and “The Ecological Network: Cambridge“
Ecological Companies is a catch all phrase. If you are a sole trader/partnership or only work part-time, but have clients that are non-ecologists (such as builders, developers, homeowners etc) then register an Ecological Company Profile, under your trading name.
When adding a profile for a individual freelancer (or a company) users must add a location.
This is needed so that when users search locations, your profile can be found.
The location does not need to be exact however. For example, if you do not want to put your exact address, you can simply put your road, or your village or your town. The location will be centred upon your entry. For example, the centre of your village.
If you have gathered google reviews about your company, and you wish to link to your Ecological Network profile, you can.
Simply go to your profile account, and click ‘edit’.
In the location section, you will see a box to add in your Google Maps Place ID. This will link your google reviews to your Ecological Network profile.
We are always keen to hear from the users of The Ecological Network, and their suggestions of improvements. Please head over to the ‘Contact Ss page, and send us a message!
